Melting Glass
For YEARS I've wanted to melt glass. Finally, it's happened - I got a small kiln for my birthday.
I haven't got the first clue as to what I'm doing, but I bought a book and thought, let's just get started. Why not?
And here's my first ever attempt at melting glass:
As you can see, SOME thing has happened here - LOL.
Clearly, the temperature wasn't hot enough to reduce the aromatherapy oil bottle (which had previously contained Angelica!) to a puddle; but it was definitely hot enough to shatter one of the test pieces into dust!
I do love the bottle though, my very first attempt at melting glass EVER, and you can still screw a top on it.
Developing art ...!
My second attempt involved fusing some dichroics - and look what happened:
And something else is cooking as we speak ... :-)
One second hand German lab kiln from Ebay - £285
One box of warm glass supplies, tools and safety equipment - £215
One 49 year old witch hopping around, cackling with excitement - PRICELESS!
There's some things that money can't buy ... and for the rest ...

Backgrounds Gallery Update - Herbs & Spring Flowers
Some people knit. Some do macramee. I make seamless background tiles by hand for relaxation ...
The Nature Backgrounds Collection and the Art Backgrounds Collection have both been updated and new seamless tile galleries added. They're free, I'm happy to share and a backlink is always appreciated.
Madonna Morning On Canvas
I found a printer online who puts digital images onto a canvas. Intrigued, I sent "Madonna Morning" from the 23 Exhibition as a test, just to see how it would come out.
It was stunning receiving this in the mail. I've never seen any of the 23 pictures in the hard, and the print is truly beautiful - a lot more colorful than the original, but I'm not complaining. It looks amazing on the wall.
Detail from the "Madonna Morning" print.
